image swatches

Hi,
Is there a possibility to upload images for image swatches under products/attributes/configure_items? I need the same image swatches for many products… I also have following problem: If I upload images in the image swatches box at the right side of the edit product page the image is not shown at final product page, there are just a white swatches. Can anyone help me?
