• All of my cropped images are showing up in my Media Library. Is there a way to turn this off?

It makes it appear like there’s a bunch of duplicates, cluttered, and it’s harder to find the original image that I should be cropping from and I’m worried that could result in clients cropping the images down to smaller and smaller sizes over time.

    Hey, this shouldn’t happen.

Are you using the grid view or the list view when browsing the images?

Hey, sorry I dropped the ball on this. Good to know that it shouldn’t happen

I was using the grid view. I had the following idea as possible cause:

    – we changed the crop size in the field settings, could this have caused old crop sizes to appear in the media library?

It seemed like it may have resolved itself (perhaps after an update?) but things have been hectic and I haven’t been working with the images as much lately so I’m unsure on this

    Hey,

Good to hear that you are not experiencing this anymore.

If you run into the problem again we could try to debug the issue more thoroughly.

Hi again! I’m running into this issue again on another site.

I noticed that a recently cropped image had popped up in the Media Library (grid view), and that the cropped images have ‘aspect-ratio’ added to the file name so I ran a search in the Media Library and it turned up a ton of cropped images (we’ve been using your ACF Image Crop for at least a year on this site).

This time, I’m thinking it could be caused by the Media Library Assistant plugin which is probably making adjustments to the query for the Media Library and related searches.

I don’t have a staging environment set up right now unfortunately and I’m not comfortable with disabling the plugin on the live site, as my client has been actively using it to tag images in the library (but I may be able to get away with temporarily deactivating outside of business hours).
