Poor image quality in banner section slider

On the demo site, the image in the banner section has a resolution of 800×520 pixels. But if I upload images of the same resolution, then they are displayed 400×260 pixels and stretched to 800×520 and become of poor quality. What needs to be done so that the images are displayed with the same resolution as on the demo site?
