Comments do not close automatically

  • I have set WordPress comments to close after 28 days. This works with my standard posts. However, the comment box remains “open” for the sermons after 28 days have passed. I have tried the TwentyTwenty theme and the issue remains. I have made some small edits to single-wpfc_sermon.php but I still see the problem if I revert to the original file.

    Should the comments close? Can someone give me some guidance for a possible solution please?
