Podcast feed error – episodes not appearing in Apple or Google Podcasts

  • Hello,
    We have had a long support forum thread with our WP Theme support – OnAir2 from Qantum Themes – and it seems that the issue may lie within Powerpress plugin configuration somewhere.
    Since we redeveloped this website and changed to this theme using your plugin, the podcasts have not been pulled into Apple & Google Podcasts. Apple only reflects a few old episodes from 2012 and Google episodes up to the last one in Jan 2019 when the website was changed over. Someone at the radio station configured the podcasts as this is not our area of expertise but perhaps they did it wrong?

    Configuration currently:
    OnAir2 has its own post type called Podcast and all the podcasts are created in here.
    The Feed URL is: https://www.spiritradio.ie/podcast/feed/ as set in the tabs Powerpress Settings>Feeds>Podcast Feeds & >Feed Settings.
    However, in the tab Powerpress Settings>Apple Settings there is a section titled New Feed URL and this url is set there despite the big warning: https://www.spiritradio.ie/podcast/feed/podcastsfeed/
    This is the same url that is found in Powerpress>Post Type Podcasting where the following has previously been created:
    Feed Title: Spirit Radio Podcasts
    Post Type: podcasts
    Slug: podcastsfeed
    URL: https://www.spiritradio.ie/podcast/feed/podcastsfeed/

    I have checked both feed urls on castfeedvalidator.com and I get the following:

    Can you please give some advice as this issue has been going round and round with with no resolution.

    How are you getting this RSS feed address: https://www.spiritradio.ie/podcast/feed/

    That is a non-standard feed which means it’s a category feed, Channel feed or a Post-type feed. The standard feed using the main PowerPress settings should be https://www.spiritradio.ie/feed/podcast/

    2nd, what RSS feed does Apple have at PodcastsConnect.Apple.com for your show? Whatever that is needs to change to whatever feed you are using now. Ideally wiht a 301 reidrect. Also, you need to blank out that new feed URL box (for now).
