No nested pages after 2.9

So I upgraded to WP2.9 yesterday.

Today I log in to add a new page to my site. It is a subpage to an already existing page, “Projects”. However, when I look at the new pages permalink it says “https://site.root/page_slug”.

I figured that would go away as soon as I defined the parent page, but it doesn’t. Is this a bug in 2.9 or am I doing something wrong?
