• Hi, whenever I click on the Troubleshoot link at the top or try to use your plugin, I get the “There has been a critical error on your website” error. However, I can just go back in my browser and the site is back up. Please advise

Hi there, can you please update to the latest version of Plugin Detective (v1.1.8) and let us know if that fixes the issue for you? Also, what version of WordPress core do you have running?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

    Hello,

I ran the diagnostic and the Plugin Detective found no problems with any of my installed plugins but I noticed that some of my plugins were suddenly deactived.

When I tried to activate one of the plugins my website crashed. Now my website has the following message: “There has been a critical error on your website.”

I can no longer access my wp-admin. I reinstalled my WordPress Theme but nothing changed.

My WordPress is V 5.5 and my PHP is V 7.3.6.

    Please assist.

Hi @seankeady, oh no! Plugin Detective should have reactivated all your plugins when exiting the tool, but it sounds like something went wrong or possibly you closed the window before exiting the process?

You should still be able to access Plugin Detective even if your main site is down, so you could run it again to get the site back up. Just go to yoursite.com/wp-content/plugins/plugin-detective/troubleshoot/ and log in to run the process again so you can get your site back online.

If you email us at [email protected] we’re also happy to help you take a closer look

    Thanks,
    Nathan

I deactivated my plugins from php. That fixed my error and I was able to delete your plugin.
