    Hi all

I have a client who I am having difficulty getting Paypal to accept credit card payments on their website. When a customer goes to pay, it says that the payees bank account has declined the payment, however when the customer phones the bank they say that the request hasn’t been made to them and it’s not been declined. We have been able to replicate this behavior as a customer.
They are able to accept Paypal bank transfers however.

I did change to Stripe and initially this worked for a couple of days, but then Stripe removed it as it was classified as a gambling site.

Does anyone have any recommendations of payment facility to use on a “gambling” site? or any experience of the described issue with Paypal?

    Hi @nickobee1983,

WooCommerce doesn’t restrict what you can do since you’re hosting the site on whatever server you please

However, payment gateways like PayPal and Stripe do have policies prohibiting gambling transactions. You can read more about these here:

If you’re setting up a gambling site, you’ll need to make sure that both your hosting company and the payment provider are happy to deal with gambling transactions, otherwise, the site will continue to run into these issues.

Your best bet is to speak to people who are successfully running gambling sites and find out what hosts and payment service providers they’re working with.

I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved now since this is something you need to input for directly from the folks who are in the business.

    Cheers
