List Categories On A New Page

yes, but i apparently i don’t know how to use it. I tried putting some codeinto the page and it just showed the code as code. It didn’t work. Does anybody know how to use it? What portion of code goes where?

When you using template tags you have to create a template php file and assign that template file to your page in WordPress.

You cannot drop template code into WordPress post or pages.
