• Hello again

    Can someone please explain to me what this means

    “Duplicate theme and author URLs. A theme URL is a page/site the provides details about this specific theme. An author URL is a page/site that provides information about the author of the theme. You aren’t required to provide both, so pick the one that best applies to your URL.”

    I got this message when I tried to add a theme.

  • you tried to upload a theme to the wordpress theme repository?

    It means exactly what it says…

    in style.css

    /*
    Theme Name: Voodoo Empire 3
    Version: 1.0
    Theme URI:
    Description: The Voodoo Empire's Third Theme, a dark black and red 2 column fixed width theme.
    Author: Rev. Voodoo
    Author URI: https://www.rvoodoo.com/
    */

    stuff that looks like that is at the top. (or needs to be) some info is required, some is not. But the theme URI and the Author URI can’t be the same.

    Why not?

    like it says, the author link is a link to info about you, the theme link is a link to info about the theme.

    When I post a theme, I use the author link to just go to my website

    I use the theme link to point to the permalink of a post I make (on the same site) describing/announcing the theme

    So it could be like lets say the author site is https://www.123.com the theme link could be https://www.123.com/theme?

    yup, that’d be fine
