Option changes saving but not taking affect

Hi

I have added in the Ajax Search Lite plugin but when I update the settings in options to sort the order of the results to newest posts to be displayed first, it doesn’t alter the search result order when I test it. But when I check back the changes have been saved they are just not taking affect.
