    So, I backed up my data (I think), and hit the upgrade automatically button and I got this lovely message;
    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2515174 bytes) in /home/monicac1/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1331

    I know zilch about lines, bytes or allowed memory size, so please speak “WordPress for the uninformed” if you reply….

    my site is https://www.monicacowlesphotography.com

  • ok create a file called php.ini in your root and include this line in it.

    memory_limit=64M

    if you get the same error again increase the value of 64 to 128 and check again..

    hopefully that should solve the problem..

    Thanks, actually, I just, um, read and followed the quick directions to install, which included deactivating my plugins….;o}
