• Currently, my blog is running on wordpress.com (https://leifandersen.net). However, I am not completely satisfied with it (do mainly to embedding restrictions), as such, I’m trying out www.ads-software.com on my webserver at home. When I put my email address in (when I ran the install.php script), as I suspected, I never got any email. I’m fairly new to this, so I apologise if this is a stupid question, but I can’t find any documentation on this in the codex. What do I need to do in order to get wordpress to send mail to me? Thank you.

  • What email you want from www.ads-software.com? I never get any such emails when I Install my blogs, all you get is your account details that is generated during your installation process, which comes from your own server not from www.ads-software.com…

Well, I thought I remember reading somewhere that you would get your login information emailed to you, however, I was sceptical of that.

So than what is the purpose wordpress has of collecting your email address if it can’t actually mail you anything?
