    Hi,
I use wordfence latest free version (7.4.10) just download Authy latest version on my phone (I authentificated and set it up). Scan the code from WP/WF dashboard. Everything looks fine and my Authy app shows the WF logo and the 6-digit codes it produces for WF every 30 secs..
The problem is that none of these codes get recognized from the box waiting for the activation of 2FA in WP/WF dashboard.
The timezones settings are all correct UTC for WF and my server, next to it my local timezone (UTC +3) correct, computer and phone timezones and times correct. But 2FA no chance to work. After a 3 whole hours of google searching and here in this forum also, I figure out that this exact problem persist to the majority of the WF users, with no luck of any explanation, or ways to try to fix it from the proper WordFence guys (and girls).
Shall we just try another plugin for 2FA or there is a solution after all.
If you want to know all my settings looks fine (at least that what Wordfence diagnostic says) and I got no other problem except this. Anyhow thanx for this great plugin but try to put some effort in such a major issue that this one is.. after all you gave it free to the public and its not a premium feature anymore..
    Please advise..

Thanks for reaching out, however we protect 3 milli0on sites. Your problem is not what a majority of Wordfence users face. That doesn’t make it less of a problem for you and anyone else that may have it, but exaggerating will not get you faster support. If you want faster service then perhaps you should opt for the premium service you mentioned.

I personally use 2FA with Google Authenticator and have for a while. I haven’t had any issues. I am reaching out to our QA team to make sure the release was tested with Authy and how to proceed.

I’ll let you know what I find out.

In the mean time, can you send a diagnostics report to wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com? Make sure you add your forum username (xpanos) where indicated and respond here when it has been sent.

    Tim,

I didnt over exaggerated and I thanked you guys for the great plugin as I mentioned above.
In my saying you will not find anywhere saying that the plugin is not protecting somehow. You didnt have to mention that you protect 3 million people as I ve already know that. Im one of them as well.
Anything I said above was regarding an issue of a feature that is not working and for that only. I also didnt ask for faster support. I just said that this 2FA feature was previously only for your premium user but know anymore, you make it free to the public.

I only wanted to know why a problem such mentioned with the 2FA, that if you search only here in this forum n not elsewhere, for wordfence 2FA activation and working problems, you will find more than 4 pages and 100 users with the same problem over a year with that issue and there is no answer to this problem, just to take it as a guide for us, to try and solve this problem we have.

Anyone claims that they fix it somehow, its temporalily and after some time they claim that they cannot login anymore. Others say that its working only for UTC (0) users.
All the people had the problem and they could not manage fixing it, like me, they had different UTC+- local timezone.

For your information I tried make it work with Google Authenticator as well and the same problem persist. No code get accepted from wordfence wp dashboard.
I send you my diagnostics report in the email you mentioned, in any case if you could help it would be nice for many people not only just me.

I mentioned the number of users because you said in part “try to put some effort in such a major issue that this one is” and “this exact problem persist to the majority of the WF users”. It is not a major issue since we do not have a large number of users who are reporting it. I know of one other user facing this and he has an expired security certificate, which your diagnostics do not show is an issue you share.

Can you try logging out and closing any windows or browser tabs you have open for your website? Once you have done that login to the site again, and try adding 2FA to your account again. Make sure you complete the process within 5-10 minutes to make sure there isn’t some weird problem with the noonce expiring.

Let me know if this helps.

    Tim
