Contact form 7 no longer working

I have been using Contact form 7 for 7 years and it has stopped working, the form was sending to our gmail account, the only error message we are getting is “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later”. does any one know how to fix this?

Install and activate WP Mail SMTP Plugin and
fill the proper SMTP details of your mail account.
