• Hi folks

    just spent an hour writing up a article on my site about 900 words, set up all the keywords, tags, seo, pressed Post, It went directly to LOG IN Screen. I logged in and cannot find the post, not in draft or bin, anyone help or have an idea what has happened? how to get the post back or at least the words ?

    There should at least be an auto-save somewhere, but if the post object it relates to is missing somehow, you could not access it through WP. You’ll need to go straight to the DB through the phpMyAdmin app, usually accessed through your hosting account. The auto-save post record should be near the end of the posts table (usually prefixed with “wp_”). If you can locate your data, click the record’s edit link so you can copy/paste your content somewhere safe. I strongly urge you to not attempt to actually change anything through this app, you can seriously corrupt the DB if it’s not done correctly.

    It’s perfectly safe to look or to copy, just don’t ever click the “Go” button that makes changes. You may need to redo SEO and tags, but recovering the content would be a big win in itself.
