Safari Favicon Issue

  • I have a favicon on my WordPress site theme Cordero and it was added via customize < site Identity and it works everywhere expect for Safari add to favorites IOS. It shows up plain white? It works in the browser tab area and it works if you pin it to the home screen in Safari and everywhere else. I have uninstalled all my plugins and that did not fix it. I have cleared the cache and realfavicongenerator.net did not fix it.

    If you switch themes to one of the default themes (Twenty Twenty etc.) is the issue still present?

    The site icon is a core WordPress function, so it should be independent of the theme. If you switch theme and the issue persists, it will help narrow down the issue.

    Yes the issue is still present when you switch themes. I added Twenty Twenty and it was still an issue. Thank you.
