Adding multiple users?

  • Hi, I have just set up a blog for staff and field workers (I work for Medecins Sans Frontieres) and I want to add multiple subscribers (about 2 000 in total) without adding them individually through the User tab. I think I can do this through phpMyAdmin or something similar, but am not sufficiently techy to know how. Anyone got any pointers or tips?

    Otherwise some poor soul will have to spend days adding subscribers!

  • You might be able to get something from here.

    Or this plugin. Don’t see much documentation, though. Looks like the input file needs to be in the format: loginname|firstname|lastname|password|email.

    Thanks vtxyzzy, I’ll give it a go and post the results…

    I did a test run on a couple of members, and it worked just fine.

    Looks like it might send out a lot of confirmation emails, though. That might get you in trouble with your host thinking you are a spammer.
