    Hello,

We have updated to the newest version of WooCommerce, however we are having issues with manual order entry.

When trying to add an order, we are unable to add (already) catalogued users (customers already in database) to the order via the search field, or manually add or edit customer billing and shipping info. The field where you choose to enter info is non-responsive, as are the edit (“pencil”) images. An additional note, the field where you type in a customers name to look up, used to default to guest, but it doesn’t do anything other than show a check mark when you try to select or enter info.

This is also the same for adding products. The Add Product button is non responsive and we are unable to look for / add any products.

Since we aren’t able to move past customer info, or add products, we’re not able to say if any of the other functions on the order entry page have issues too.

One other observation that we noticed; previously, when hovering over the “WooCommerce” link in the left side main menu, it would bring up all the sub-categories (dashboard, orders, coupons, etc.) however this is no longer. Now it requires selecting “WooCommerce” first, and then, only after the page populates are we able to see the corresponding sub-categories previously mentioned. It isn’t a huge deal, but nonetheless, it is an extra step that wasn’t required previously.

Please advise, and thanks in advance for your help with this!

    Cheers,

  • I’m experiencing the same behavior. It started after updating to WordPress 5.5, but before updating from Woocommerce 4.3.1 to 4.3.2. The issue was not resolved by updating to woocommerce 4.3.2.

    Please advise.

@13racers @careyrob I have been unable to reproduce the issues described.

On a site of my own that is running the latest versions of both WordPress (5.5) and WooCommerce (4.3.2), all of the field are working as expected. I am able to look for customers and edit the billing and shipping addresses.

I recorded a screencast of how this behaves for me here: https://d.pr/i/UVLvxX

This leads me to believe it isn’t a widespread bug in the plugin itself, rather something specific to your sites’ setup. I’d recommend testing for conflicts.

To do that you’ll want to temporarily switch your theme to Storefront. Then, disable all plugins on the site except for WooCommerce, and test for the issue.

If the issue is gone, you’ll then have to re-enable features one by one, while testing for the issue; until you find out which one is causing this behavior.

We recommend that these steps are taken on a staging site, which is a clone of your live site that you can modify without risking making any permanent damage to your live site. You can create it using a plugin like WP-Staging.

Hopefully that helps you pin-point the source of the issue.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
