    Hello,

Great plugin, thank you! I’m just having two issues:

    1. The age gate seems to load slower than the home page so when someone first goes to my site it shows the home page with certain elements from the age gate splash mixed in. Is there any way to adjust this. I’m using a moving gif as the background, could this be causing the issue?

    2. Some mobile users have experienced clicking ‘yes’ to the age question but just having the age gate page reload each time on a loop. I’ve got a caching plugin active and have activated JS with rest API on the plugin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated – would love to stick with this plugin!

    Hi @page52,

Yeah I see that with the gif, it’s pretty chunky at 3.4Mb.
What I’d do is maybe set a background colour in the age gate settings as well as the image so it at least hides the site, then the gif will show when it’s loaded. I’d probably do that no matter what.

For the mobile part, it seems to work ok for me on iOS (demo here). What OS have the mobile issues been reported on? It’s possible that it cached prior to you enabling the JS mode.

    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for the quick reply – good idea re adding the background colour; I’ll see if this works. The other issue seems to be been resolved too – likely, as you say, a prior cache issue.

    Thanks!

I am having a similar issue – the page content loads as normal, but then the Age Gate comes up. I do not have a gif or large graphic set on the Age Gate content. Wondering what settings I should review to enforce the Age Gate as the first paint on the page, perhaps a preload or something along those lines?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @chillsunfire,

What else is loading? Probably a good idea to run your site through page insights to see what is render blocking.

The age gate javascript runs at the bottom of the markup so not to be a render blocker, but if there’s a load of stuff before it, that queue will need to be downloaded to the browser first.

If you’ve got a URL you want to share, happy to take a look.

    Thanks

First off, thanks for your quick reply.

    It’s a hefty site: dilogents.com
Content including images and text are loading and viewable before the age gate pops up.

Because of the nature of this site, and the products visible on the home page above the fold, we would prefer to have the Age Gate overlay cover the page while the rest of the content is loading underneath/behind it. But right now, some of the content is visible before the overlay appears.
