How to add link to cover photos block

  • Most images allow users to create a link, so that when people click on the image, it takes them to an associated page/post. However, the cover photo block doesn’t seem to have that capability. Is there a way to add a code snippet or plugin so that I can add links to a few of my cover photos? I need them to be cover photos, instead of other types of photo blocks, because the cover photos will let me add text over top and allows for greater customization of that text/caption.
