For the last few days, if I update an old post and save it, the plugin is automatically creating a new redirection to a non-existent URL with the date string. This isn’t happening with every post, just some. This is making it hard to pinpoint what’s causing the error as I don’t know exactly how to replicate the error, therefore I can’t test for it.

For example, today I made a small change to this blog post:
    https://www.emilyluxton.co.uk/canada/trek-america-review-mountie

And the plugin added a redirect to the following link:
    /2018/07/05/canada-trek-america-review-mountie/

Screenshot of one of these redirects: https://paste.pics/0d4e8b9ff58bb643f23d68ac375ea8be

Any ideas why this might be happening, and how to stop it?!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

It’s not randomly creating them. If you have the plugin configured to monitor changes to posts then it will create a redirect if a post URL changes.

If you don’t want this then you can disable it:

But I’m not changing the post URL’s, sorry I should have made that clearer. I’m fixing a typo within the post, and making zero change to the URL. But the plugin creates a redirect anyway!

The only way the plugin auto creates a redirect is if the post URL changes. If you are not doing that then some other plugin is. If you disable the option then it won’t create any redirect.

I’ve disabled that option now, thank you. I will keep monitoring it. But I promise I wasn’t changing the URL, and no other plugin had, because when I deleted the incorrect redirects the original URL still worked. Is there no way a glitch was occurring where the plugin thought I’d changed the URL when I hadn’t?!

Anything is possible. There are no other reports of glitches though, and so it seems unlikely.

But that’s why I posted for support, because I’m definitely not changing the URL’s, so it looks like a glitch to me!!

Sure, I understand that you are not personally changing the URL. However, something could be triggering it, and so if you disable the option it should fix the problem.
