Problems with plugins for shopping cart

I installed ecomerce shopping cart plugin. The only change in my site was an additional page. The parent page “Product” and subpages “Transaction Result” “Check Out” and “Your Account”. I thought that the pages would show buttons,etc. just like what you would see on checkout pages on anysite. I also tried downloading paypal button,not sure if this was the right thing to do since presumeably these plugins should take the place of Paypal buttons, however my attempt indoing this did not work.
Secondly I purchased two plugins for the cart. One called Goldcart and grid module, and the other product slider. Links from confirmation email did not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at a standstill until this works.
