I updated my website with the lasteast version of WordPress 5.5.
But since I did it, Yoast SEO is doing bug on wordpress administrator panel:

    – In my media panel, I can’t see all my media. Nothing appears. I’ve got like a “blank page”.

    – In the user panel, I can’t add another user, because, when I want display the password, I can’t.

So, I deactivated the plugin and everything works well now at the administrator panel, but I can’t set up all my SEO…

Can you help me to delete this problem ?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,

We apologize for the difficulties the plugin is causing for you. We can see this is a bit frustrating. We are happy to help. We would like some more information as this can help us troubleshoot and rule out or in possible issues.

    1. We had another recent release. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v14.7? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    3. Are you using the Gutenberg plugin, the Classic Editor plugin, the Schema & Structured Data for WP & AMP OR the Vafpress Post Formats UI plugins?

I’m experiencing the same issue. Ever since upgrading to WordPress 5.5, my SEO data is grayed out. Yoast can you please fix this bug?

Btw I’m using the v14.7 version.

@style-synopsis Please create a new issue if you are experiencing a similar problem as this helps us in tracking as this can be caused by many different variables (WordPress version, other plugins, etc).

I also experienced the same thing, In my media panel, I can’t see all my media. Nothing appears. I’ve got like a “blank page”.

    Hi @bangazril,

    Hi, thanks for your answer.

As you asked, I just checked all the informations you needed :

    1. This morning, my administrator panel suggested me to update Yoast SEO plugin to the v14.8 (I had the v14.7 when I posted the topic here). So, I updated the plugin, but I’ve still the same problem.

    2. All my other plugins are updated too and also my theme.

    3. Regarding other plugin I am using. I use Guntenberg, WP Bakery, but not the others you asked.

But, the problem is still here. Can you fix it ?
    Thanks.

    Hi @ottremelin,

Thank you for your reply and troubleshooting.

The blank page in media lets us believe that there is either a theme or a plugin having issues with the WordPress 5.5 release. That major update packs a ton of changes on the development side and not every theme or plugin is (fully) compatible with it yet.

    Please try the following:

    1) Install and activate the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin and see if the issues resolve. If it does get resolved, we know that there is a plugin or your theme that still depends on this script that is no longer included in WordPress 5.5. To know if it’s your theme or a plugin, you’d need to do a conflict check. See 2)

    2) Do a conflict check with the Health Check troubleshooting mode. This switches to a default theme and disables all plugins only for your user (site visitors are not affected). Then you can enable Yoast SEO only and check if the issues exists. If not, please switch to the theme you use and check again. If the issues appear, then it’s a theme issue. If not, then you can enable 1 plugin at a time and check again after enabling a plugin. When the issues are back again, you know what plugin is not compatible. More information on the Health Check plugin can be found on our site here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/.
