• Hey Forum,

I just updated my wordpress to the newest version 2.9 from a really old version like 2.6.2 or something. Well I remember the admin panel looking a little appealing but when I updated and went into my panel it looks like crap. I have a lot of respect for wordpress and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t let their aesthetic prowess drop this dramatically. So I have included a link to an image i uploaded on photobucket. I know its a little small but hopefully somebody has seen this before and know how to fix it? Or if you can just say that there is nothing wrong and this is how it’s suppose to look, which will make me a little let-down i guess.

    Thanks for all the help.

  • That looks horrid! No that’s not how it’s supposed to look. I’m guessing when you updated some CSS file or Javascript file got left out or got messed up.

Delete and reload your wp-includes and wp-admin folders. Looks like something didn’t get FTP’d properly. Make sure your FTP program is set to Auto mode too.

    Alism,

I deleted and uploaded it twice but I still get the same results. And i’m using godaddy.com’s FTP client and I’m pretty sure its on auto mode. The only things that I can change on the client is whether to click binary or ASCII, i’ve been using binary… I dont know whats wrong? Should I redownload another copy of wordpress 2.9 and do the same thing?

Try a different FTP program. ??

You might want to try disabling any plugins too, just in case one of those is incompatible with your current version of WordPress.

I found out what happened…. I’m using google chrome but when I use internet explorer it works very well… I mean it looks like what i would expect from wordpress ??

    Thanks for your help!

It should work fine in Chrome. Clear your cache in that case. ??
