• Hello Thomas,

Firstly, thanks for the awesome plugin. I’ve just started using it and loving it this far.

I’ve got a question regarding the Enhanced Checkout Labeling Steps.

In the previous plugin I was using (WooCommerce Google Analytics Pro), the steps were:
    1. Started Checkout (fired on checkout button click)
    2. Provided Billing Email
    3. Selected Payment Method
    4. Placed Order

I’ve noticed that the steps are different for your plugin, but have not found any documentation or up-to-date information on which the steps are exactly and how do they trigger.

The most up-to-date steps I’ve found (here) are from 2 years ago and are as following:
    1. Billing data
    2. Shipping data
    3. Payment
    4. Shipping type

Are these still the same now? Also, how are these triggered exactly?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,
    Vlad

    Hi Vlad,

Yes, this is still a valid info.
One addition: GTM4WP can now detect whether shipping data is disabled in WooCommerce settings. If this is the case, “Payment” gets #2 and “Shipping” gets #3

    Thank you, Thomas!

Can you please also explain how these are triggered exactly?

For WooCommerce Google Analytics Pro they were pretty explicit and I could tell how they were triggered:
    1. Started Checkout (fired on checkout button click)
    2. Provided Billing Email (fired once billing email was provided)
    3. Selected Payment Method (fired once payment method was selected)
    4. Placed Order (fired on order confirmation page)

    1. Billing data
This is triggered when the checkout page loads, thus, the user is in the phase of entering billing data

    2. Shipping data
This is triggered if any of the shipping address fields are filled in.

    3. Payment
This is triggered if the user selects a payment method using the radio buttons on the checkout page OR when the user accepts the default payment method selection and presses the Place order button

    4. Shipping type
This is triggered if the user selects a shipping method using the radio buttons on the checkout page OR when the user accepts the default shipping method selection and presses the Place order button
