I’ve created a new field using the “add field” button and I’m not seeing the submission in the Salesforce lead. We even created a field in Salesforce, but maybe we are not doing it the right way. Is there documentation on how to use the “add field” feature so that it shows up in Salesforce?

There is an extensive FAQ. Try that.

Guess I’m not really understanding.. if I click on “add field” in this plugin.. does the name of the field have to match up with something already available in Salesforce? I see what the available fields are in the faq, but I tried using “comments” and nothing showed up.

Yes, this plugin submits data to Salesforce using the field name you specify.

If that field does not exist, Salesforce tosses the data.

If it’s a core field, it’s in the list in the FAQ.

if it’s a custom field, it ends in __c.

If it’s neither, it’s not settable via the Web To Lead API or this plugin. Not all fields are supported… like Comments as that’s intended for *internal* comments, not customer generated comments.

The built in “free entry” field is description otherwise you’ll need a custom field.

Ok, we used the title field and got it to work.

    Thanks!
