• Hi! I am fairly new to the wordpress community and am using woocommerce as well. However, I noticed that no matter what I do my website is not loading fast. I have cloudflare setup as CDN and as a cache with custom page rules (which I researched alot), am also using managed cloud hosting with siteground but still I find that my site is slow (8 seconds to load, I improved it from 20 seconds according to GTMetrix). Now I only have elementor left to look into. I am subscribed to elementor as a pro user. Recently, Siteground had just closed down my site saying there was a looping script associated with the plugin elementor and this happened when I updated to 3.0.0 Elementor doesn’t look so good to me now.

If someone has any advises to improve the loading time of my website please help me out!

    Thank you so much

  • Depends. Elementor def. loads more stuff than for example Gutenberg or Oxygen but it is the most convenient builder. 8 Seconds on Sitegorund would be very slow and I think it’s not related to Elementor alone. I am using Elementor and multiple Sites on Bluehost Cloud (I know not the best) and using Amazon Cloud Front. I got it down 2 – 3 Seconds. Check also for Assets Clean-Up which helps you to remove the unnecessary load of scripts ( I actually think that brings the most) Plus use a Cache Plugin like WP Rocket. If you are on the Free Version of Cloudflare, well its slow cause its actually not a real CDN but Reverse Proxy and in my previous sites, it made it even slower. You can try AWS its for free in the first year. You can also try to only partially load specific files to Cloudflare.

Exactly not. I’m using Elementor on my lot of site. All of my site optimized and non optimized load within 3 seconds.

You can do a test on fresh wordpress install with Elementor. Your using Siteground which quite good hosting.

I suggest you to use any cache plugin like W3 total cache, WP Super cache or WP fastest cache or WP rocket (Paid).

    Thanks!

As I recall Siteground isn’t using Apache but NGINX. As for the measurement please be aware that GTmetrix isn’t really accurate in the sense the loading times fluctuate quite a bit. Its good for history keeping and waterfall but for accurate page speed I would go with pingdom or lighthouse in chrome itself. For the kb load amount and requests (well with HTTP 2 not too important anymore), Elementor loads def. more than Gutenberg or Oxygen. It also depends on what theme you are using or if you using one at all. I use mainly the plain hello theme from elementor itself. A big thing are usually other plugins that are loading tons of scripts or potential errors. I would check on both in the waterfall. Also if something is blocking the render.

Thank you so much guys for your replies. To add more context I am using the paid version of cloudflare and have set up browser caching and also CDN, I am also using SG optimizer which optimizes content for siteground. Also, I am subscribed to elementor pro and use a theme called shoppix which I purchased from envato (https://themeforest.net/item/shoppix-luxury-jewellery-elementor-template-kit/26423909). Do you think its a good idea to use such a theme and have this set up?

Thank you so much I really appreciate your replies and your time.

I am using the business plan from cloudflare

Hi i just checked your site with pingdom and here is what i found: Its slow at the moment. But it doesn’t comes mainly from a triple redirect on your site by calling first:

    https://cleconciergesa.com/ –> than https://cleconciergesa.com/ –> and than https://www.cleconciergesa.com/

the redirect to https is necessary but i the one to www is not necessary at all. You might have to get rid of this one and use search and replace to change you internal linking on your side to https://cleconciergesa.com/ only.

Another things is an image you load which takes long but also from what i can see is that you are loading from a couple of different external sources such as google fonts. I usually try to reduce this to something more controlable. For me i basically load only from my server plus amazon and a cdn for social login. Thats about.

    Hello,

I am following this thread because I’m having the same sort of issue with my site. I also have Elementor and Cloudflare, but am using the free version. What larsvonhierblau said regarding the redirects resembles what I saw when I used pingdom. I am wondering how can I use “search and replace” to change internal linking? I am not a technical person, being more graphics/design oriented. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
