Are you going to update your Enhanced Media Library Pro soon?
-
I noticed you have not updated the plugin for the past two years. Are you going to update it soon? What is the status on this plugin? Thank you for input.
If you are deprecating this plugin, what substitute do you recommend?

I paid for this plugin and they simply disappeared…. so I had to found another solution…
Sadly, it looks as if the author has abandoned this plugin. So disappointing when this happens.
I also have Enhanced Media Library and am wondering what will happen if I just delete it. Would everything still display properly on my website? I can live with it if they are no longer organised into categories as I only have 180 media items, but don’t want to break the website!! Very grateful for any advice, thank you!
@barneywpf Yes. (It does on mine, at least). You might want to (on a staging site) try a few of the other media organizer plugins first because some of them let you import from EML. With that few images you can probably: install replacement, run it’s import function, delete EML, go on with your life as if nothing happened.
Brilliant, many thanks Dave your expertise much appreciated! My expertise doesn’t run as far as the staging site idea so I may just cross fingers and uninstall EML.
But do you have any suggestions for a replacement I could try first?@devaghost – Which plugins have you found that allow for an import? We’re still OK here with the patch that was posted, but I’d love to migrate to another plugin, but we have SO MANY images categorized with this (our library is upwards of 3,000 images) that we just have no interest in re-tagging everything for a new plugin.
I’m really just an expert at pulling my hair out. I have a really complicated taxonomy on an e-commerce site that’s built around EML. I think I can replace it with three plugins.
It’s “best practice.” so you really should contact the hosting company and ask them to help you with setting up a staging site. There are a number of things that can break a website and sometimes they’re not apparent. You can restore from a backup but then you can lose a couple days work.
Independent of the problem, this is a nice plugin to have: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/media-library-assistant/
There’s some overlap but these will basically copy one EML category:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-media-library-categories/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-media-category-management/and these will create a folder structure much like Windows or Apple’s:

https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/folders/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/media-library-plus/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/organize-media-library/Thanks for everyone’s input. I am still researching options to make sure any plugin replacement can convert EML paths and have everything in place for pages and posts, and won’t crash site. Will of course back up complete directory prior to testing out. I have 4 sites that use EML. So, I want to make sure I take the best route.
I have also contacted these plugin developed to see what they say, plus contact my host provider for input also, including creating a staging site. Onward!
8 best – https://ninjateam.org/best-wordpress-media-library-folders-management-plugins/ (it included EML, so ignore that one).

Looking forward to hearing what the developers of those other plugins have to say.
If just one would step up with a transparent, zero-touch migration, they’d easily gain a huge number of users…
Same boat. Migrated to Filebird from EML using its import feature. That was a fast switch and all my folders have been retained. Good thing is you can always try before buying:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/filebird/Great advice, many thanks everyone! Filebird looks good because it’s only one plugin, free (for up to 10 folders) and can apparently import EML settings (thank you @moncreta, your and everyone else’s advice much appreciated). I’m currently learning how to use UpdraftPlus to back my website up to Google Drive first (steep learning curve today!!) in case I break anything.
I migrated to https://wickedplugins.com/plugins/wicked-folders/
They gave me a plugin to migrate everthing from Enhanced Media Library Pro and it worked fineGot a reply from Filebird (Sorry, Firebird mispelling with previous posts; senior brain fade! And yes, I am 75 going on 76 yrs old next month and still counting! Nothing like web managing to keep the brain cells working hard, and prayer!).

Hi there,
Please see the documentation here:
https://ninjateam.gitbook.io/filebird/import-folders-from-4-plugins“I saw that your plugin is free for up to 10 media categories, right? And your premium is $25”
==>
YES, free version allows 10 folders only and the PRO version is a one time fee.“And what about extending tech support-cost?”
You get 6 months free technical support when you purchase a license, but to renew support cost about $8“I assume one licence purchased can be used for any other appropriate sites with more than 10 media categories?”
Please note that one license is for one website only. Please see the steps to follow if you are upgrading from free to PRO:

Kind regards,
-Bruce-I am checking out Wicked Folders also https://wickedplugins.com/plugins/wicked-folders/. Looks like free version only organizes pages and posts. You have to buy Personal version to organize media library. Cost $49. I messaged developer with my questions.
1. Free version shows that it organizes pages and posts. What about media library? It looks like that is only included in the paid Personal version.
2. Is the Personal version a one-time fixed fee or annual?
3. What is tech support duration length and priority for Personal?
4. I assume the Personal version can be used for my client’s sites, right?
5. Can one license be used on multiple sites?Just an FYI…Wicked Folders has 10,000+users. Filebird has 50,000+users. The more the merrier to help work through the kinks!

Got response from Wicked Folders as follows, https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/replacement-plugin-for-enhanced-media-library-3/#post-13409791:
From Wicked Folder-Here are the answers to your questions:
Correct, the free version allows you to organize pages, posts, and custom post types but does not include media library folders. The pro/paid version includes media library folders as well as folders for Gravity Forms, WooCommerce, and the plugins screen. You can learn more about the pro version here. The cost of the pro personal version is $49 for one year of updates. After the first year, if you’d like, you can renew for $24.50 to continue receiving plugin updates. The plugin will still work though even if you don’t renew.
We offer lifetime support for our plugins. So even if you don’t renew your license, you can still get support. We prioritize all support requests the same and typically respond on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The personal edition of the pro version is valid for one domain. So, yes, you can use it on any site you want but the license only works for one domain.
The personal license is valid for a single domain. The agency license is valid for unlimited domains.
