About the child theme Thematic

    I’ve got a couple of problems here. I’m currently trying out trying out the child theme Thematic because of its gallery function and I love it as such. I’ve been on the hunt for a good while now for a good gallery plugin for WordPress or some software with that capability and found Thematic.

    It’s great in many ways but one thing that irks me is that there doesn’t seem to be an option for showing larger images. Portrait views are ok, not always considering the amount of work I put into my art that simply doesn’t show at that small size, but landscape views are way too small for my stuff.

    Now, to make the thumbnails and images work properly you have to add links to the images outside the post. The post itself shows up in the sidebar. If I include an image in the post it too shows up in the sidebar and that’s not what I want seeing as the “large” image is supposed to go into the main area. If I include it in the post as well as by way of linking to them the regular way I get up to 3 images somewhat on top on each other and the page gets distorted.

    What I’m after is a way to (1) have the thumbnails in place (2) be able to click the thumbnails to get to the larger view and lastly (3) have the option of full view. The two first parts is no problem, they work as they should but the full view part eludes me. The best thing would be to be able to view them with a lightbox script but I’d settle for a new window if at all possible.

    The second thing that I can’t seem to get to grips with is the categories. At first the child categories worked fine but after a while they stopped working and the child categories shows up in the menu as parent categories.

    If anyone know how to solve these two problems then please let me know.

    The full view problem is solved. I simply made a “full view” button, inserted it into the post and linked the larger image file to it. What’s even better is that the lightbox script works fine as well so it looks pretty good now^^

    About the categories I have no clue what to do about them. Guess I’ll have to stay with parent categories only.

    Hmph… the categories seem to mess up when I add too many child categories.
