    We noticed your plugin updates are not respecting users’ existing plugin settings.

    Specifically, your plugin update Version 14.9 (under General) changed our Usage Tracking setting from OFF to ON.

    Click here for details.

    Can you shed more light on this?

    We don’t mind helping Yoast improve its plugins, but would be nice if you could notify us if a plugin setting was changed during a plugin update.

    Perhaps your new Notification feature can be used for this purpose.

    Thank you!

  • Hi @jetxpert,

    The setting definitely shouldn’t change after an update and should only turn on if you choose to opt-in, so we’re sorry that this happened.

    To see if we can reproduce the problem, can you let us know what version you had before 14.9 (14.7 or later) and what version of WordPress you’re using? That will help us investigate.

    @priscillamc,

    Thanks for the quick reply. We had Version 14.7 installed.

    Not a biggie, but thought it would be worthwhile bringing this up for a quick check by your developers.

    Going forward, we’ll monitor future plugin updates to see if this issue re-appears. If it does, we’ll try to replicate, record, and submit our finding(s).

    Again, thank you.
