  • https://www.corysstory.com looks like a parked domain. Are you hosted with GoDaddy?

Yes I’m hosted with GoDaddy, and I don’t know what a parked domain is… going to wikipedia now…

Sorry, I purchased the domain through Godaddy but it’s hosted through justhost.com

Try using your justhost web address.

On Godaddy, I changed the nameservers to the ones that justhost.com sent me. I’m waiting for the changes to take effect; hopefully that will help.

When instructed to upload files to the “root” directory, does that mean in the “public_html” folder?

Bear in mind that this can take up to 48 hours (although, thankfully it’s often a lot less). I suggest making it easy on yourself longer term and waiting until the changes have kicked in before even trying to install WP.

Yes – although the folder name “public_html” isn’t used by all servers/hosting packages. If you upload WP to the root directory, the final domain name (corysstory.com) should point straight to your blog.

That did the trick. The nameservers just needed to be changed at Godaddy.

I got the nameservers in an email from justhost.com when I registered at justhost.com

Thank you so much for your help, esmi. I see you’re helping many people here and I appreciate it very much!
