    Hey,

I’m looking at options for a problem I have. The company I am working with wants to sell products, such as razors and mirrors. These are going to be made of recycled plastics that are collected from salons but also customers. As part of the site, I want to be able to offer the ability for customers to send their plastics (could be the product but also any other plastics) back to our company to be recycled in a bag we will supply with the product when they buy it, and reward them for doing so.

This doesn’t feel like a return, but sort of acts like one. And we want to be able to automatically give customers a reward (discount/points) to be used on future purchases for sending their plastics in.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about achieving this?

    Hey Andy!

You might be able to do that with our Points & Rewards plugin. It allows you to offer points on certain products. If you bundle the ‘return’ product with your regular products, you can offer points that way. The points can then be redeemed for a discount on future products.

Hope that helps. Have a wonderful day ahead!

That was my original thinking actually…

SO add a product into the store which is a ‘recycle’ bag, and they purchase it and get a woocommerce order barcode and upon receiving the barcode back to the warehouse we give them points?

    Hi there!
Points & Rewards is usually set up award points to the customer automatically when a product is purchased. However in your case you want to reward the points when the product is returned in effect. You can manually add points to a users account but this might get a bit tedious if you have a lot of returns.
Similarly you might consider simply emailing the user a coupon for use on your store when they return the product (recycling) but again this would be a manual process.
It’s a great idea but I am not sure how you could automate it.

Hey there, since we haven’t heard back from you in awhile I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.
