Google Search Console does not index /post-sitemap.xml
-
Hi @sfuma,
By default, the sitemap is set to ‘noindex’ which means it is not indexed by Google and therefore is not included in Google’s search results for your site. The reason for this is that the sitemap file is not created or meant to be viewed by a site’s users. But rather, the sitemap is meant only to be read by search engines and serves as a guide for what pages should be indexed for a site.
From the Google Search Console screenshot, your sitemaps were submitted successfully and there is nothing else for you to do.
Why is everything on my other site perfectly indexed by the google search console?
Ruined the plugin. Soon everyone will run you away. There is no sense from this plugin, there are a whole bag of problems. Turn off your unnecessary sitemap. And even more stupid spelling.

We apologize for the difficulties the plugin is causing for you. We can see this is a bit frustrating. We are happy to help. We would like some more information as this can help us troubleshoot and rule out or in possible issues.
1. Can you provide a link to the site that has the issues?
2. Can you provide an example of a URL or sitemap you are expecting Google to index?
3. We had another recent release. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v14.9? If you update, does the issue resolve?
4. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.5.1? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider.?Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast.?This guide explains more:?https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.
5. Are you using any caching plugins? If so, which ones?

WordPress 5.5.1
Yoast-v14.9
Used WP Super Cache. Turned off now.Hi,
We did check on your post sitemap and it is loading fine as expected, and the latest posts on September 14, 2020, were indeed added with the correct last modified date — https://amputee.site/post-sitemap.xml
Would it be possible for you to try and remove the sitemap in Google Search Console and resubmit it again and see if it is then able to pick up the post sitemap? You can follow the steps here for more information — https://yoast.com/help/submit-sitemap-search-engines/#google-remove
Nothing works.
videoHi,
Was your post sitemap previously not a part of your main sitemap index and was this just a recent change? Are there also no errors or messages from Google Search Console pertaining to your sitemaps?
When submitting a sitemap to GSC, Google will periodically process it and look for changes — https://pasteboard.co/Jr9xENI.png
We recommend that you just observe it for a few days and then check if Google is able to pick up the post sitemap as part of the discovered URLs as we don’t see any issue from the end of the post sitemap generated by the Yoast SEO plugin.
You could also try to use the URL inspection tool and submit one of your posts in the posts sitemap and investigate further. You could also try to contact Google’s Webmaster Forum for further assistance and clarification — https://support.google.com/webmasters/community?hl=en
Before that I had WordPress with a native map. I installed Yoast a week ago and the problems started. My site has one main category. I need to close it from indexing?

Hi,
We understand you just recently installed the Yoast SEO plugin and used the sitemap generated from the plugin. Would it be possible if you do a live URL test in Google Search Console for the /post-sitemap.xml URL and see if Google is able to crawl the URL? If so, you may just need to wait for a few days until it is able to process and read it.
When you say your site has one main category and you need to close it from indexing, do you mean that you would like one of your categories to not appear in the search results? If so, you can set it to ‘noindex’ by using our plugin and it will also be removed from the sitemap — https://yoast.com/help/how-do-i-noindex-urls/#single
Is it advisable to close a category from the index in order to improve SEO?
Hi @sfuma,
Without knowing your site setup, content, your niche, or your competition, we can’t say what is best. If you are thinking about putting a noindex on a specific category, then reconsider why you’d keep the category/posts.
Please know that SEO advice is outside the scope of the support we provide. We do have SEO courses at Yoast Academy if you are interested in learning more (there are free courses too).
We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
