• Hi WordPress friends,

If you are logged into WP and you want to view the frontend of the site you could click on the title on the top of the page or on the button next to it.

This is a great and simple feature, but it opens the frontend in the same window. I always rightclick on it and select ‘show in new tab’ because I want to keep the backend of the site opened. Why doesn’t this link automatically open on a new tab (or new window for older browsers)? I think this would be a simple, yet time saving change.

  • I think forcing a ‘target=”_blank”‘ is something a lot of people are irritated by. They believe the choice to open a new window or tab should be left up to the user. I too, often open an edit window in a new tab for the sake of convenience, but I would be very annoyed if I was being forced to do it. Just one opinion. ??
