• Hi everyone,
After updating my plugins I can no longer login to my admin panel. It will not show up.
    I get the following error.

    Error thrown
    Class ‘Twig_SimpleFunction’ not found

Could someone please help me? I have an artist site for my job as an illustrator and am not very at home with these sort of website problems.

  • Hi Tamara,

In that error message, you may find a file path to what caused it. If so, you may be able to figure out which plugin/theme caused the issue. Which would be in the path…

Then you would need to login to your server, through FTP and navigate to where the plugin/theme directory is (usually wp-content/plugins or wp-content/themes). Now rename the offending plugin directory in order to disable it. So if the plugin was named bad-plugin, you would rename that directory bad-plugin-old (or such). Now you should be able to log back into your dashboard.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Tamara

Most of these errors have often been traced to a coding error in a plugin or theme. The solution to this is to disable your plugins. However, this will require you to access your site via FTP. In order to deactivate the plugins, you would have to do it by renaming the plugins folder so WordPress no longer reads it.
Then try to login to your WordPress dashboard. If you are able to login, this means one of your plugins is the cause of your WP-admin login error. You can then activate your plugins one by one, after encountering the issue again with a specific plugin activated, you simply need to delete it or rename it.

    Hope this information helps.
