• Resolved Payment Plugins

    (@mrclayton)

    Hi Support,

You recently changed the display name of your plugin from “WooCommerce PayPal Powered by Braintree” to “Braintree for WooCommerce Payment Gateway”.

I maintain a Braintree plugin called Braintree For WooCoomerce and since your display name change I have seen a noticeable uptick in support requests where merchants are confusing the two plugins due to the similarity in the name.

In my opinion, in order for merchants to receive the best support and get in contact with their plugin developer I believe your display name should not start with the name of my plugin.

    Thank you for your time.

    Kind Regards,

  • Hi @mrclayton

Thanks for reaching out and bringing this to our attention!

Our plugin was updated to Braintree for WooCommerce Payment Gateway because it was requested directly by PayPal / Braintree, as such we can’t change the name.

I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you here and for any inconvenience this has caused!

Is there anything else I could help with?

    Cheers,
    Christine

    Hi @christineskyverge,

Thank you for your response. I’ll be sure and send merchants your way if I see they are using the wrong support thread. You may see me post in your support requests from time to time if I see a merchant using my plugin has mistakenly posted in your support area.

    Kind Regards,

    Hey @mrclayton,

Thank you for letting us know. Again, so sorry for the inconvenience this causes and we completely understand. We’ll be sure to continue to send any merchants your way that complete our contact form by mistake as well.

I’m going to mark this topic as resolved, but if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

    Thanks,
    Marcus
