MAJOR concern! I recently created an E-Commerce site for a client who sells clothing and apparel. A few days ago, a school community that he sells clothing to had a PTO Sale and he received a lot of business. However, there were a handful of people who had an issue where other customers information had automatically appeared in the cart and checkout page. For example, John Smith would see “Jane Austen” in the name field. Addresses were also populating that were not theirs. This only affected a few people but this is really concerning. We confirmed that they were all ordering from different devices and they do not share a place where they live. We also confirmed that the information they saw was in fact other customers who also were purchasing from the site.

How can this be? Most people did not have this issue, and when I tried to recreate it I did not run into the problem either. I thought it was the browser that automatically populated text-fields.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey there!

This is only ever seen with caching on your site. The caching would cache the input data from the customer, then display it to another customer.

You can read more about setting up caching here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-caching-plugins/

Hopefully that helps! Have a great one!

Thank you for the response! I have been using SG Optimizer from SiteGround and disabled their dynamic cache. Until I configure a new caching plugin like the article you mentioned suggests, this will prevent it from happening again in the meantime correct?

Don’t disable the dynamic caching. Exclude the pages and disable memcached ??

Makes sense now. Made the adjustment. Thank you!

Im having the same issue, only difference is, I have the pages excluded and memcache disabled, can you please advise?

It just happened again for me too. I excluded the pages in SG Optimizer four months ago, but now the issue has resurfaced for a few people. So frustrating.

Any updates on this? I am having the same issues

I had the same issue yesterday.

I thought also about caching is the issue, and I disabled yesterday the LiteSpeed Caching Plugin (it is a LiteSpeed Server), did 5 test orders, and it seemed to work.

But today another client is saying he saw names and order from other people…

So, it is not caching related…
