Can someone suggest a free, simple, easy security solution for my WordPress site? I’ve tried Wordfence and Ceber both have caused issus (that are probably easy to fix, but not for me) that take me down a rabbit hole that I don’t want to go down.
I just want to install and know its taking care of intrusions, spam comments etc.
    Any suggestions?

    None, I’m afraid.

Just responding to remind you of the so-called Project management triangle, which is evident in practically every sphere of life, including computer security.

The security solution that is “free, simple, and easy” that will also not take you down “a rebit hole” you don’t want to go, almost by definition, cannot also be the most secure… perhaps not even remotely secure.

The security triangle below can sit flat on either of the two sides, but never on all three at the same time. So you get to pick which one to sacrifice, and it sounds like your design goal is to sacrifice the security of your website in favour of “free, simple and easy”.

    Why even bother then?

Not at all what you are saying, I just want a plugin that I am able to install and set up, that when i have an error I don’t have to spend an entire day trying to find out what to do, how to fix.
Spending an entire day trying to figure out why a plugin for security has brought my entire site down.
When I say easy i just want it to be intuitive so I know what to do to fix it.
when I say free I am so tired of spending money on the best host, the best theme, the plugins I buy to make my site do what i need it to do, I am constantly buying this and buying that. so when my original post obviously makes you think I’m a lazy and cheap person I’m not. I just want to work on my website and to get it up and running instead of spending all my time battling plugin issues.

So instead of the assumptions and judgments can someone please suggest a security plugin that is intuitive and user-friendly and I don’t have to be a programmer to know how to use it?

I have found that All in One WordPress security is a good option. That’s my go-to for clients who are on shared hosting plans.

    Its called. All in One?

The plugin is this one https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/

I use this as my only security plugin for all my websites because it is free, simple but effective.
