• I started to follow the instructions, but where it says to move widgets, they will not move to anywhere, they just slide back to the original place. I do not see where the columns go from the back end, I do not see how to make 2 columns like the page. I see no where that they show you a template for where things go on the template…….

    All I need is the basic set up to look like the example that was sold to me, I paid for 2 restaurant themes but no where did it say I would get a completely blank set up, I expacted a fully set up template that I could edit, I did not even recieve a question, do you want a blank set up or an already set up restaurant…..I had no choice, after I paid I got the suprise…..

    ……Oh by the way, do not be scared if you see a blank template, now you can edit it…….what kind of crap is that……this should be STATED before you purchase.

    I was expecting a template the LOOKED like the example where I could just put our information. I feel I wasted almost $100 for something I have to program, I do not want to program, I just want to have all areas ready to drop our menu and pricing.

    Can anyone here can give me the exact restaurant theme as shown before I paid for it?

  • May I suggest that you contact whoever you bought the theme from if you have a problem with it.

    Thanks, I am also “begging” them to give me the exact site I thought I was paying for. I am doing this site for a restuarant in my town but I was not expecting to have to learn how to use WordPress just to get it to look like what I thought I was purchasing. I am printing all the tips and tricks to this site so I may be able to understand more how the template system works here but I was not looking to program, just upload my changes exactly where the template showed they were. That is why I am asking for help, can anyone get me to that point.

    I would love to help, unfortunately they have quite screwed me over too. Very big waste of money I’m afraid. I made a bit of a review hoping to help people: https://templatic.webs.com/

    There’s a setup guide on their website for each of their themes – but its available to members only, so I can’t comment on whether it will help much, but have you worked through the setup instructions in that?

    I feel I have to defend this theme a bit. It offers more complex design and options and as such, has more complex customizable options but I generally found it very user friendly with little to no programming skills. I have easily been able to do everything I want with it and when I had questions, they were answered quickly and thoroughly. Maybe some WordPress training on a site like lynda.com would help more than reading through the esmi link for different types of learners?

    I would have to agree with the feedback that Templatic support is terrible. I asked a customization question… a rather simple one that I imagine is pretty common (How to get images to display on the homepage posts excerpts). They replied with a link to buy upgrade services for $59. Seems to me that when you upgrade to a professional theme that some basic support for their themes should be included. It only enhances the theme and allows people to use it more creatively and therefore promote it. As it stands now, without a doubt, I would recommend against templatic. Try Woothemes instead. Similar sites… Just isn’t worth using them especially when they state that they will not refund anything. It’s a great way to not have to deliver. My only other suggestion for the other people that had problems is to file a chargeback with your credit card company.

    Templatic themes support is horrible!

    Don’t buy a theme from these people.

    again, I am late at noticing all the threads here, but i’d take an opportunity of answering some of the basic things.

    – All templatic themes come with auto install option. Meaning, with simple two clicks the theme will set itself with sample data and so on. This was provided as an update few months back (and let me claim, no other theme company provide this revolutionary, easy to install feature which takes away pain of setting up themes from scratch)

    CUSTOMIZATION SUPPORT
    – We do receive two type of customization support request. The part of support is basic customization like theme troubleshooting, minor design tweaks and so on which are directly are part of the theme.

    – advanced customization request such as adding new custom fields in forms (which require complete change in programming), adding entirely new features which feels nice to have but the ones that we have not included in the theme (nor we are claiming to have them). Naturally we have to deny this because that is not something we sell. Also it takes days for us to simply add the feature user ask which is not a part of our theme.

    @hseitz – we do not have any option such as $59 upgrade service. When users require highly customized theme to suit their need, we do refer them to our free job board where other freelancers get in touch with them and discuss the job. Ofcourse we are not web design agency that customize the theme for the theme buyers to suit their exact needs.

    CONCLUSION
    having said all this, I am going sit back again and rethink the overall support at templatic and resolve to improve Documentation, New help articles, Support desk and in any other way possible.

    The best way to get help would be to INFORM us atleast that you need help. Please get in touch with us at https://templatic.com/helpdesk/

    @rbhavesh

    I have noticed you responding to all of the complaints finally. That is good, BUT Can I just point out that you appear to be copying and pasting your responses. The reason I bring that up is because this is exactly the point I was trying to make to you on my post that I started about why your support not offering a forum for customers.

    When someone has the same issues or complaints you don’t have to answer them over and over like you do with your ticketing system. You answer them once on the forum and if someone doesn’t see that response and asks again, you just post the link. You would save so much time. You pasting the same response is case in point.

    Not to mention, clearly your system isn’t working when people having to come to a public forum to complain which doesn’t look good for you. People come here as a last resort when they can’t get developers to respond.

    And those who keep mentioning India are lame. I hate to say it but these guys in India make us look bad sometimes. They work their asses off for a lot less than what we make and are way efficient. And I like that when I check my inbox first thing in the morning, all the work is done. Read the 4 hour work week.

    @dstolfi
    You are right. When I noticed the threads, most of them were having a common voice. I prepared a long response that generally covers all of the concerns and wrote it here.

    You are right about the forum thing ?? and as I responded in another of the thread here, we are coming up with a forum that will have a dedicated moderator.

    Ofcourse as you said, its not good for us when people come here. In fact, the reason it took for me long to come here is – I was simply not aware of the threads in here.

    4 hour work week is really nice book. I haven’t read the complete book but get the general idea. Though its a different topic, I think each country have their +/- points. I’d say, those hardship in early years makes us better person in long run. Funny thing is, some people complain about outsourcing and call names. But they don’t realize WHO outsourced? ??

    Anyway, look forward to a better templatic in coming days. We are definitely here to stay and we are actively working on improving for sure. Only the time will tell
