• Hi,
I need to create a new website from an existing one. I’m looking for a tool to download all media.
I found a plugin called ‘Export Media Library’ which doesn’t work, and other plugins help you manage the media but not download them in bulk.
Thanks in advance for your help!

The best way to download all media would be, I think, to use FTP or the file manager app in your hosting control panel. Download wp-content/uploads

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I can’t access it with ftp.

    Why not?

Because my employer doesn’t know the first thing about this old website and they just want me to basically copy and paste it onto their new architecture.

Can you install plugins? Install a backup plugin like backwpup, do a backup of the files and database, then download the backup. You can then extract whatever files you need.

    Hi,
In theory I can (meaning that I can search for plugins and click “install”) but while they appear in my plugins list, they don’t appear in the left-side menu and I can’t actually use them. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but there’s a warning regarding the PHP version (5.3.8) that needs to be updated (and I can’t), which may explain why plugins are not usable?

That’s a pretty good assumption. Contact your host and upgrade your version of PHP.
