I have no theme suggestions, but you might want to keep a few things in mind before you select.
1. How comfortable are you editing html, css, and php?
2. What type of layout demands will you require?
3. Are you looking for something that has massive extensibility or would you prefer simplistic and elegant?
Many of the popular themes require editing code to get what you want. Sure you can use them out of the box, but then you have a cookie cutter site and nobody likes that.
Many themes offer entire cms type control with so many options you can lost in the control panel. If you have the tech skills, searching the popular themes will just be a matter of taste. If you are lacking in the tech depot like me, then simple is the way to go. Nobody likes bells and whistles anymore anyways.
I tried WP-Remix mostly because they had a good sales pitch. Sure it has tons of options, but personalizing it can be a never ending task. I currently use “Elements of SEO” and like it very well. I still have some issues to work out due to my own attempt at customizing it, but I did not pay a single dime for the theme.
I hope this leaves you a little more informed. If not, then I got some good writing practice in anyways.
