I just got an email from WPForms Lite that there are 10 entries in my contact form. I have never received those messages via email, and when I try to log in to WPForms it says I do not have an account. How in the hell am I supposed to view these entries? Even if there’s some issue in delivering emails (which evidently there is not since I did get this notification email?) I don’t think fixing that would allow me to see previous entries. Isn’t there some way to see entries through a browser (and if not, why not??)

I am absolutely NOT going to give WPForms actual money just to be able to see the entries in the forms it said I could use through WPForms Lite. I am fairly angry about this, to be honest, and rather than promoting sales it makes me want to quit WPForms entirely and detail this situation in public reviews. Please advise.

I just checked to make sure, and yes, I did set up email notifications for this form properly. I never received any emails about entries. I have also found several other posts here remarking about WPForms holding entries “hostage,” does not look good.

    Hello @bexrayspex,

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry for any confusion!

    Entry storage:

WPForms Lite does not store form submissions in WordPress, though you can certainly set up form notification emails to send form submission details to your preferred email address(es).

We do try to clarify this with the entry page notice in Lite. However, please let me know if you have any suggestions on how we can improve this.

And if you’d like more help with using WPForms Lite, please feel welcome to post in our WPForms Lite support forum.

    Email delivery:

To resolve email delivery issues like this, you can configure a SMTP plugin on your site so that emails are sent as authenticated. We have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials.

    Thanks!

Look, I am trying to be patient and diplomatic, but did you not read my actual post and comment? Emails were already set up correctly, notifications turned on, etc. — and even if it weren’t, email setup now is not going to retrieve the entries that have already been sent.

WPForms has enough info to notify me that there have been entries and to tell me “ To generate detailed reports and view future entries inside your WordPress dashboard, consider upgrading to Pro.” To me, this looks an awful lot like a bait-and-switch to get me to shell out for Pro.

    Hello @bexrayspex,

Sorry for the frustration you are facing here!

Only on upgrading to the paid version, you will be able to store and view future entries in your website. Unfortunately, WPForms Lite entries are not stored in WordPress and only exist in the email that is sent. This is a restriction set by www.ads-software.com — plugins aren’t allowed to ‘unlock’ content such as entry data in a paid version in this way.

WPForms Lite, our free version, does not have the feature to store entries, though you can set form notification emails to send out form submissions to your email address. In case it helps to share, here’s our tutorial with all the details.

Because entries are not stored in WPForms Lite, they will not be available even when you upgrade to the paid version. We’ve included the information regarding entry storage on the Entries page of the Lite plugin and in our weekly summary emails that displays the count of number of form submission. If you have any suggestions on how we can better clarify this, please let me know and I’ll share those with our team.

Meanwhile, on upgrading to Paid license all your upcoming/future entries will be stored and can be managed from WPForms > Entries page where all the potential leads can be captured and help you grow your business. Here is a complete guide on Entry Management.

    I hope this helps!
