    Hi there,
I’ve been able to add Site Kit to my WordPress site, and successfully connect Search Console. However, I am having trouble connecting Analytics.

Logged in as the Admin user for GA, when I click “complete activation” on any of the Analytics panels of the dashboard I am taken to a “Connect Service” page
where the page remains stuck, showing the progress bar.

There is a console error on this page after a second or so:
Uncaught (in promise) Invariant Violation: homeURL must be valid URL

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting Analytics, and using an incognito window.

Any pointers would be most appreciated!

    Thanks

  • @joshsg thanks for reporting!

Could you provide your site URL and Site Health Information through this form so we can check Site Kit’s status on the site?

Sure, I have filled out the form. Thank you

    @joshsg thanks for the info!

So what’s notable is that Site Kit has the following value for the search console property (even though it recognizes the site URL):

    search_console_property: /

    1) I see you have the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin installed. Could you use its troubleshooting mode to see if another plugin is involved? You may be familiar, but this mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely since it only affects the experience of the logged-in user.

    – Please enable the Site Kit plugin and let me know if the issue is present.
    – Enabling plugins and your theme one by one in this mode may help pinpoint if something else is involved.
    – Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.

    2) I’m particularly curious about this plugin:

    Relative URL: version: 0.1.7

Is this available on WP.org or is this a custom plugin?

    Hi Renee,

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to enable Analytics through Site Kit once in troubleshooting mode – there was another GA plugin that was conflicting I think (although I wasn’t able to enable Analytics unless in troubleshooting mode, even with that plugin disabled).

Analytics seems to remain connected even out of troubleshooting mode, is that expected?

    2) Relative URL is an old WP.org plugin, but should not have been active, thanks for spotting that!

@joshsg great to hear you found the source of the issue and sure thing!

Analytics seems to remain connected even out of troubleshooting mode, is that expected?

If I’m understanding correctly, yes you shouldn’t have to be in troubleshooting mode in order for Site Kit’s Analytics to work.

We’ll do some further testing with your other Analytics plugin as it shouldn’t have caused this issue, but glad to hear you worked around it.
