    Hello,

I need to create a lot of redirections and from what I have read it is better to write them into my htaccess instead of using the database. So if I create the redirections in Rank Math and export them in order to add them to my htacccess, do I need to delete them in Rank Math afterwards? I don’t want double redirects – but how would I then be able to hae an overiew and manage them if I had to delete them?

    Thanks.

    Hello @bggg12

    Thank you for your message.

Yes, you should either create the redirections using the Rank Math’s redirection module or add them directly in the .htaccess file.

If you want more control, using Rank Math’s redirection module is always recommended and is not as cumbersome as adding/removing/editing the redirections in the .htaccess file.

Also, the usage stats are visible in the Rank Math’s redirection module only, not with the .htaccess file method.

You can read more about them here:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/setting-up-redirections/

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

@rankmath Thank you. My problem is that I want to use Rankmath to create the redirections but THEN export them to my htaccess – so would I then need to delete them all in the plugin settings? Or could I just deactivate them and leave them in there?

    Hello @bggg12

Yes, you should remove the redirections from Rank Math if you are going to add them in the .htaccess file.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.
