    Hi,

    I encounter a fatal error on my website (WordPress 4.9.13) with all the recent versions of Yoast (> 14.8). Everything works fine on 14.7.

    This message appears everytime I try to add a new post, custom post or page, and even when I want to update one :

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method WP_Screen::is_block_editor() in C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\app\plugins\wordpress-seo\admin\metabox\class-metabox.php:876 Stack trace: #0 C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\wp\wp-includes\class-wp-hook.php(286): WPSEO_Metabox->enqueue('post-new.php') #1 C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\wp\wp-includes\class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #2 C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\wp\wp-includes\plugin.php(453): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #3 C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\wp\wp-admin\admin-header.php(97): do_action('admin_enqueue_s...', 'post-new.php') #4 C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\wp\wp-admin\edit-form-advanced.php(483): require_once('C:\\projects\\le-...') #5 C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\wp\wp-admin\post-new.php(76): include('C:\\projects\\le-...') #6 {main} thrown in C:\projects\le-pret-immobilier.com\web\app\plugins\wordpress-seo\admin\metabox\class-metabox.php on line 87

    Is there a way to fix this error ? Ideally without updating WordPress to 5.5.

    Thank you.

    Hello @wonderfullie

    Unfortunately, we do not recommend using an outdated version of WordPress, including (our own) plugins and themes, for the reasons covered in?this article. Using an outdated version of WordPress is bound to cause unexpected behaviour. Therefore, we’d recommend updating to the latest version of WordPress. We can assure the issue will be resolved afterwards.

    Your settings are automatically saved during the update process. Before making important changes on your website, like updating WordPress or your plugins, it is always a good practice to create backups.

    Thanks.
