• I’m trying to upload new themes to my site (www.socialgamestoday.com). When I go to Appearance > Manage Themes > Add New > Installa Themes, and try either the Upload option (browse for .zip files of themes on my desktop) or the Featured themes and choose Install, it the ass me for Connetion Information – which includes my Hostname, Usernam, Password, and Connectin Type (which already seems odd: I’m already logged in with all that infomation).

When I fill it in, it always says “Username/Password inccorect”. Frustrated, I tried to just connect via FTP with Filezilla -a nd it wouldn’t connect.

I change my password to see if that owuld make a difference – still says “Username / Password incorrect”, and still won’t cnnect viao Filezilla FTP.

This seems ridiculous. I alrad gave that information to sign in. I am marked as the Administrator. is there yet a secondary account, with a secondary Username / Password I need to set up, to upload themes and change files via FTP? If so, where do I do this?

  • you set your ftp user/pass in your host’s control panel
not within wordpress – wordpress only needs the ftp info to download the zip’s
never use the same user/pass for your ftp and wordpress
in fact, all your passwords should be different including control panel at host
