regression: ignore_sticky_posts is ignored

bummer, tried back to 0.9 but still not getting stickies:-\

i’m not using any caching, at least that i know of:-} ur redirect doesn’t do a 301 or 308, does it? i’d prefer a 307

I tried on my development server, disabled all other plugins, no caching – doesn’t work.
The parameter gets sent to WP_Query, but has no effect.

When did the problem appear? With the latest update?

I discovered that WP_Query shifts sticky posts to the beginning only if entire post objects are requested (‘fields’ => ‘all’). It doesn’t work when requesting post IDs. So I made the modifications for the next release (probably tomorrow).

I have no idea why this issue appeared only now. Maybe I made some changes in the code sometimes that triggered it.

i think the reason it’s surfaced now is that i just started using your excellent plugin, and it’s the 1st time a stickie post has pre-dated the last post…we just posted another stickie & of course it’s not

been there, done that…i think all programmers are borderline (or not just;-) ocd…glad i’m retired & just finding the bugs;-)

The new release is out, it required quite some changes so it took more time. The bug should be fixed now.

but it’s not sticky:-\
clicking on logo (linked to https://bostoncamerata.org/) _does_ go to latest_sticky_post, as expected…and of course, desktop works as expected…

weird…maybe it’s a conflict with wptouch:-\

Could there be any caching involved? Do you use Cloudflare? The redirect should actually not get cached, but maybe it happens anyway.

You could also add &rutpdebug=2 and check what is happening here. https://bostoncamerata.org/?redirect_to=latest&ignore_sticky_posts=0&rutpdebug=2 If all looks good, there might be a second redirect afterwards. If you don’t see the debugging information then the plugin was not able to kick in.

I don’t know wptouch, but if they divert all mobile somewhere else it might be possible that they simply serve static pages and ignore all plugins that try to do something earlier. They might have an option to exclude pages with certain query parameters like ?redirect_to.
