How to adjust blog to show more posts on individual page

  • Let me try to explain what Im asking here

    my blog has a home page that shows the last 20 articles

    if I open an article in its own page , just that article shows

    how could I make it so if a page is opened with just 1 article it shows the other articles posted before that one

    I hope someone understands me

    I dont just want 1 article to show on the page when a link is opened
