If I enable 2FA, will that enable that for all users or only my account? The site I work on has been having security issues and I thought a temporary solution for me would be enabling 2FA, while the other admins work on resolving other issues. How do I do this for just me?

Hi @willythewhale, thanks for your 2FA query.

When you enable 2FA, it must be allowed for everybody with an Administrator user role. You can effectively enable 2FA for only your account though by following these steps:

    1. Log in to WordPress as your admin user
    2. Navigate to Wordfence > Login Security > Settings
    3. Ensure Require 2FA for all administrators is unchecked
    4. If you use Jetpack for any other plugins requiring XMLRPC, select “skipped” for the Require 2FA for XML-RPC call authentication and click SAVE
    5. Navigate back to the Two-Factor Authentication tab and follow the 2-step process to set this up for your account and click ACTIVATE

Other administrators will technically be able to enable 2FA at their discretion but will now not be enforced to do so, so your account will be the only one for now.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
